I am looking for a career inventory to give students that I don’t have to schedule. For younger students in 9th and 10th grade, to get them started in a career path.

Hello!

I am a High School Career Counselor for an international school in Queretaro, Mexico. I currently give the STRONG Interest Inventory to 11th and 12th grade students. Giving the STRONG, I have to schedule and give it to several students at once. However, I am looking for an alternative Career Inventory to give the students that I don’t have to schedule. For maybe younger students in 9th and 10th grade to get them started in a career path. Is there one that you can recommend? (Preferably free and/or online?).

Thank you for your time!

Steven,
O*NET is a career exploration system operated by the US Department of Labor. There are interest, values, and work abilities profilers available. Once completed, users can search for positions that match these characteristics and gain job and training information. I believe there are Spanish versions of the assessments as well.
Also, there is a well researched interest inventory that is free (Personal Globe Inventory). This comes with a report for users. This was developed out of the University of Arizona.
Below is a link to some additional online resources from NCDA. Let me know if you want to talk more. My email is kstoltz@unm.edu
