Find a Counselor
NCDA members provide a variety of career development services. NCDA especially highlights those that have earned the Master Career Counselor (MCC) and Master Career Development Professional (MCDP) designations. Depending on your unique needs, you may choose to contact either a MCC or a MCDP, based on their experience and education or the services they offer.
The Master Career Counselor (MCC) is designed to recognize individuals who can provide a full range of career services, including assessment, to consumers. They hold master's degrees in counseling or related fields and also possess related credentials such as the NCCC, NCC, state LPC, RPCC or licensed psychologist. These professionals are carefully screened to ensure that their level of expertise meets six or more of the NCDA counseling competencies.
The Master Career Development Professional (MCDP) is designed to recognize experienced members who provide specialized career development services. MCDP's may include career development facilitators, career technicians, resume writers, employment agency professionals, career coaches, career management professionals and workforce development professionals. They hold Master's degrees in career development or related fields (organizational behavior, human resources, psychology, educational leadership, etc.) The degrees, licenses, and levels of supervision of these professionals may vary.
